Animotion Days 2014
9–12 July 2014
Bau, Centro Universitario de Diseño de Barcelona
Surreal landscapes for music videos, grotesque creatures for Hollywood productions and multimedia stage installations – the experts who are coming together at this year’s Animotion Days in Barcelona use animation to create fantastical worlds. Together with the students and teachers at the Bau, they offer an insight into their work through master classes, seminars and conferences.
This is the third time that the Bau School of Design has held the Animation Days. The focus of the event is on animation, audiovisual design and motion graphics, aimed at the Bau’s own students as well as interested members of the public. Current research projects being carried out at the Bau, dealing with subjects such as social change brought about by the internet and early Spanish cinema, are also presented, alongside commercial projects by famous animation artists. Dvein, Sebas & Clim and Román Torre provide an introduction to their work as part of the conference programme. The master classes by Bart Yates from Blinkink, Roger Tortosa and Abner Marín, are on a smaller scale, and the meetings that follow them provide an opportunity for questions and discussion. A selection of student projects can be seen in an exhibition and various screenings.
Tickets cost €10 for the conferences, €15 for the master classes, and €50 for a master class and meeting. All of the other events are free.
