Conditional Design Workbook

A Dutch team of designers developed the Conditional Design method, which is governed by controlled workflows and encourages openness towards unexpected results. The book illustrates the system in ten workshops.

Rather than being dogmatic, these ten commandments of manually generative design are intended to kindle enthusiasm for further development. Each workshop opens the game by clearly defining the framework conditions. The reader follows the process right through to completion, if they can resist trying it out for themselves straight away first. The book is rounded out by two essays underscoring the importance of Open Source projects for contemporary design.
