FH Münster, Leonardo Campus, Münster
30 November – 1 December 2018
The Future of Reading conference, short FURE, looks at the opportunities and challenges caused by changes as a result of technological innovations in the media industry. The roles of digitality and print, changed reading behaviour, and innovations in on-screen reading are among the topics covered by the speakers.
Established experts and young designers will both speak at this conference. Speakers this time include graphic designer and lecturer Mario Lombardo, who will discuss the role of images in future reading, copywriter Sonja Knecht, who will focus on verbal components in corporate identities, and Atilla Korap of Monotype, who will talk about new technologies and their potential for designing reading experiences. The FURE plus format will also take place for the first time this year with the Design-Meets-Science-Conference. The main focus here is on the reception of media, combining questions of design and technology with insights from anthropology, phenomenology, and semiotics. Two separate tickets are required to participate in the two events.
