Milano Design Film Festival
Anteo spazioCinema, Milan
9 - 12 October 2014
Four days, 40 films, 52 invited experts - these figures summarise this year’s Milano Design Film Festival. In addition to the film presentations, an extensive fringe programme offers the public an insight into the world of design and architecture.
The Milano Design Film Festival took place for the first time in 2013. Following its great success, the event has found a new location in the Anteo spazioCinema, which offers space for an audience three times the size of last year’s. Once again, there will be a selected series of films from the areas of design and architecture, including historic documentation and current productions. In addition to the cinematic offering, the programme will be complemented by discussions, workshops, interviews and meetings.
In the competition, “Milan. Places where we eat”, directors, video artists and scriptwriters are invited to tackle on film the subject of our table manners and our relationship to food. Entry is open until 30 August. Music also has a part to play in the Milano Design Film Festival: the designer and musician, Lorenzo Palmeri, will give an opening concert and a composer will interpret some film titles musically. In addition to the main event in Milan (2015 is also the venue for Expo), there will be satellite events in Paris, Rome and Beijing. Overall, visitors will be able to gain a new view of design and architecture that is direct and spontaneous and goes beyond the banal.
Entry to all events is free of charge. The full details of the film programme will be announced in September.
