The Mart, Chicago
11 – 13 June 2018
Every year, Neocon, the United States’ furniture fair, presents the latest products and furnishing options in the area of office design. This year, it is celebrating its 50th anniversary with various events, including a big “the future is” party.
Neocon is one of the largest design fairs focusing on interior, furniture and product design within an office context, and has been exhibiting the latest products, largely from the USA, in The Mart in Chicago since 1969. More than 500 companies are exhibiting over six floors. The seventh floor is dedicated to new and international brands such as Lovair from the UK and Devorm based in the Netherlands.
This year the fair will be held within a framework of various events to mark its anniversary, including award ceremonies and interactive installations and information spaces, such as the exhibition about the history of the Herman Miller brand which presented innovative furniture such as the “Rollback Chair” on this platform already back in 1977. Furthermore, the Interiors and Sources magazine offers a material pavilion with an extensive material archive with hundreds of samples with further information about their manufacture and product processing options.
One of the design prizes is the “Best of Neocon” award which honours products in 42 categories that have been brought to market in the United States since the previous show. The winners will be announced during the “Contract Magazine Best of NeoCon Awards” breakfast.
Visitors to the furniture show can prepare and organise themselves in advance by using the Neocon-App. Entry can be booked using online registration and is free of charge until 8 June 2018. After this date, entry costs 40 US-dollar on the door.
