Other People’s Problems

Weissraum Designforum Tirol, Innsbruck

19 June 2018

“Other People’s Problems” is the title of a lecture at the Weissraum Designforum Tirol to be given by the graphic designer and creative director, Huw Morgan, one of the partners at the London-based design studio Graphic Thought Facility.

As a platform for exchanging ideas with an emphasis on visual design, the Weissraum Designforum Tirol regularly organises workshops, exhibitions, presentations and discussions for designers and others interested in the area.

The lecture on 19 June 2018 will be given by Huw Morgan who, since 2002 has been a part of the design studio Graphic Thought Facility, which has developed memorable design language for well-known companies, organisations, and events. The results of the projects range from campaigns, products, spaces, books and magazines to corporate designs. The works are original and strike an experimental balance between functional necessity and emotional decision-making.

During his presentation, Morgan will give an insight into the everyday life of the design studio, its thought processes, relationships with clients, and the way it works with other professions such as authors, artists, and photographers. The studio describes the way it works as follows: “We enjoy exploring the physical possibilities of design, which has naturally extended our work into product, exhibition and environmental design. We often use non-standard materials and production methods, exploiting our knowledge of niche manufacturers and forgotten techniques, as well as new technologies.”

Entry to the presentation is free of charge.
