Retune Festival 2018
27 – 28 September 2018
The Retune Festival, which took place for the first time in 2012, brings together more than 250 creative people to discuss the interfaces between design, art, and technology.
On the first day of the festival, lectures and panel discussions will take place at Silent Green, formerly a crematorium, and now a cultural area in the district of Berlin-Wedding. Iohanna Nicenboim, a researcher and lecturer in the field of design, is involved with socio-technical systems of various kinds, and combines design with social science and technological information. The London-based Studio XO works at the interface of science, technology, fashion, and music, while product and media designer Laura Couto Rosado has set herself the task of using applied physics to develop projects that will surprise the viewer with their unexpected beauty and poetry.
On the second day of the festival, various art and design studios throughout the city will be open for workshops, exhibitions, and lectures. The Retune Festival is a project managed by Retune Creative Technology GmbH, which offers and organises events in the area of art and design such as the Digital Arts Lab. The organisers attach importance to equal opportunities and are encouraging people of all genders, ethnicities, and interests to apply in advance. Three types of tickets are available, depending on the profession and work situation. There is also the opportunity to apply as a volunteer.
