Until September 10, Established & Sons is showcasing six glass objects in its Limited Gallery by Sebastian Wrong, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Michael Eden and Konstantin Grcic, realized in cooperation with the traditional Venetian glass manufacturer Venini. The objects were presented for the first time at the Salone in Milan.

The “Lighthouse” luminaire, designed by the brothers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, consists of a large glass shade balanced on an aluminum rod attached to a marble base. The glass structure is held aloft solely by one point of contact and is otherwise not attached. The industrially produced aluminum rod forms a contrast to the blown glass shade, which is available in various hues from bright pink to bold orange.

Michael Eden’s vases and luminaires look like silhouettes of human faces. Taking their inspiration from Renato Giuseppe Bertelli’s modern interpretation of the portrait, the profile sculpture “Head of Mussolini of 1933”, Eden designed the “Audrey Vase” and “Audrey Light”. Both objects are made of blown glass, in part using a negative mold, in part using no mold. The vase plays with the contrast between inside and outside: the inner form has a strong color and can be clearly seen through the transparent outer glass form.

“Blow High” by Konstantin Grcic is a table whose tabletop rests on a large organic body. With this huge glass structure, Grcic tested the limits of blown glass.

FInally, Sebastian Wrong designed two luminaires that combine various styles from several epochs.

Established & Sons’ collaboration with Venini was a first for the London-based company, said Alasdhair Willis, Chief Executive of Established & Sons. He added that the company was proud to be working with a partner that displays such high quality and integrity.
