The Power of Patterns

Powerful Patterns. In our current issue we are presenting new kinds of patterns, including those with a special function – just think of the perforations on loudspeakers. Apart from that we introduce Japanese artist Michael Lin who works in Taipei and is showing a selection of recent images at the Moroso showroom in Milan. He is known to blow up the patterns of traditional Taiwanese blankets into huge wall paintings. Last but not least we give an overview of the development of ornaments and decorative structures – from the beginning of the 20th century up to the present.
