Cover Story: Get inspired!
Ideas do not come out of nothing! We asked international designers to write and illustrate what inspires them. Then we chose 16 statements including those from Sarah Illenberger, Hanna Nilsson, Sven Voelker, Alex Trochut and Chris Rehberger, who sent us pithy and readable answers. Our columnist Claus Richter considers the interaction between inspiration and procrastination, and gives surf tips on how to lose your fear of an empty sheet.
Rahel Ueding visited the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studio in Sindelfingen and talked to Steffen Köhl about the importance of sculptures for the future bodywork design of Mercedes. In her article Petra Schmidt describes new sculptural objects, which designers and artists generate out of digital sounds.

Erik Spiekermann from the Rat für Formgebung/German Design Council in Frankfurt/Main recently received an award for his life’s work.
