The Neue Räume format is one of the biggest design platforms in Switzerland. Once again this year, held in the old ABB-Industriehallen in Zurich, the event offers architects, planners, interior designers, students, and consumers insights into the latest developments and ideas in the design industry. In addition to working closely together with various prestigious Swiss furniture manufacturers, the event makes its mark with special exhibitions such as “Swiss Design”, “Kulinarik” [Culinary Matters] and “Objects of Desire”. Also running from 15 to 19 November 2017 in selected businesses in the city centre is a supporting programme entitled “Neue Räume in the City”.
Raumwelten defines itself as a platform for scenography, architecture, and media and also acts as a flagship event for communication in space. Over the course of the four-day event, architects, communications consultants, and media creatives will meet trade fair constructors; museum directors will meet scenographers; and agencies will meet decision-makers from the business world. The programme comprises presentations, case studies, and workshops by German and international speakers. The Lichtwolken pavilion will serve as a place to network and linger for a while. Taking the slogan “Ordnung! Transformation räumlich gestalten und inszenieren” [Order! Designing and Staging Transformation in Space] the event will illuminate the worlds of work, knowledge, and leisure in the age of digitisation, and in this context, highlight new structures and ordering principles for communicating in space.
Salone del Mobile. Milano Shanghai
With a history stretching back over 55 years, the Salone del Mobile has established itself as an internationally recognised platform for the latest trends in the furniture and interior design industry in Italy. For the first time ever, 56 Italian furniture brands exhibited their products in China in 2016. This year, there are already over 100 brands, which will be presenting their latest designs in the Shanghai Exhibition Centre from 23 to 25 November 2017. Again, the fair offers the opportunity to Chinese architects, interior designers, importers, dealers, producers, and professionals from the design industry to experience high-quality Italian design.
