De Kromhouthal, Amsterdam
6–7 April 2019
Interiors of all kinds, from anonymous designs to well-known icons, Eames alongside van der Rohe, from functionalist forms to Italian-chic – at the trade fair Design Icons professional as well as the wide public will find something for their own. A variety of cultural artifacts invites to rummage.
Design Icons is a trade fair that was first organised in 2012 by Vntg, the online platform for vintage design furniture, and has been held annually since 2014 in Amsterdam’s business park. For two days, visitors can view design classics hailing from the middle of the 20th century in the old De Kromhouthal factory building. 75 dealers from all over Europe will be presenting their products. The annual increase in the number of exhibitors reflects the growing interest in the classics of mid-century design. Design Icons wants to create a counterbalance and give visitors physical access to the furniture, especially now that vintage furniture is mainly distributed via online platforms. The entrance fee on Saturday is ten euros, and five euros on Sunday. All exhibited pieces are available for purchase.
