The Aram Gallery, London
– 28 April 2018
Since its foundation in 2002, the Aram Gallery in London has been dedicated to promoting English and international designers at the start of their careers. After more than 64 successful exhibitions, the gallery celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. It has invited 15 well-established designers, who have already exhibited at the Aram, to present their works there once again, and to nominate a young, upcoming designer to exhibit alongside them.
The Aram Gallery was founded 15 years ago by curator Daniel Charny and director Zeev Aram. Since then, between one and five exhibitions have been organised each year in the rooms above the Aram Store in Covent Garden, ranging from furniture and product design, to fashion design and jewellery, to graphics. The current exhibition continues the founders’ aspirations of promoting young and experimental design from the outset. Aspiring newcomers to the profession will be exhibited alongside established greats to gain public attention. The 15 established designers include amongst other Thomas Heatherwick, Jasper Morrison, and Gitta Gschwendtner.
