Werkraum Bregenzerwald, Andelsbuch
– 27 May 2017
Since being founded in 1999, the Werkraum Bregenzerwald in Andelsbuch, Austria, has served as a platform for innovative crafts and provides space for exhibitions, competitions and presentations. The second part of the lecture series “Farb-Spektrum” will take place on Tuesday, 23 May 2017.
The Werkraum brings together around 80 master enterprises from throughout the Bregenzerwald region. Members include traditional handicraft enterprises and medium-sized family-owned companies. During the “Farb-Spektrum” lecture series, the Werkraum will welcome the speakers Nikolaus Bienefeld, the Cologne-based carpenter and architect, and the designer and architect, Gregor Eichinger, founder and owner of the Vienna-based interior design Eichinger Offices. In their lectures, these two experts will present their approaches to the topic of colour. Thomas Geisler, director of the Werkraum Bregenzerwald will chair the discussion.
The special exhibition “Farb” [colour] will showcase the manual work produced by various craft businesses in the Bregenzerwald, that deal with the colour spectrum of natural woods such as maple, beech, fir, oak and nut from a design point of view. In conjunction with the Werkraum, Roland Stecher, the designer who released the GOPB (green, orange, purple, blue) core colours in 2006, has developed an extensive display for the members‘ handmade objects based on his colour theory.
