23 – 29 April 2018
Whether you’re a developer, entrepreneur or gamer interested in video games and the industry behind them, Gamesweek Berlin offers you a unique series of events in the last week of April.
The umbrella event organised by Booster Space unites very different aspects of the games industry in a series of events that go beyond the boundaries of disciplines, topics, and business areas and where professional developers and game-loving families both get their money’s worth. First and foremost, it aims to create a platform for international knowledge sharing and networking that focuses on technology, culture, and business. For example, the Quo Vadis conference is targeted at game development and gaming experts and aims to give an outlook on the future of the industry. Speakers this year include Glen Schofield (Dead Space, Call of Duty), Niklas Fegraeus (Star Wars Battlefront) and Patrice Désilets (Assassin’s Creed). A Maze sees itself as an event for all target groups and presents trends and current projects from independent games to VR experiences. In talks, panel discussions, and workshops artists, developers, and academics can share their knowledge. The Womanize! event on the other hand, is especially committed to promoting women in the areas of games, media, and IT, and presents success stories and opportunities and aims to contribute to better networking. On 28 April, a live action roleplaying event will take place in the city area, where anyone, including first-time gamers, can participate. “The Wall 2061” is the title of a scenario where Berlin is still divided by a wall and supervised by a joint government, which different teams must overthrow.
The ticket prices for these and other events vary and separate events must be registered for individually.
