Museo de la Nación, Lima
9 – 10 March 2018
South America’s first design festival is being staged for the fourth time in 2018. Lasting two days, it will hold workshops and presentations given by internationally known designers and up-and-coming talents, and the Latin American Design Award will be presented. With this programme drawn from the fields of graphics, illustration, typography, brand communication and creative direction, the festival will place South American creativity on the international design map.
The Latin American Design Festival (Ladfest) will be held in the Museo de la Nación in Lima. On the first day of the festival, visitors are invited to take part in numerous workshops, for example, designing typographical posters with Ortner Schinko, a creative agency from Austria, or participate in a step-by-step workshop in illustration with McBess, the French illustrator. The fee for joining the workshops is 75 US-dollars.
The conference and award day will be held on 10 March 2018. In addition to talks by well-known design icons such as Paula Scher and the Peruvian branding agency Zavalita Brand Building, project presentations by young talents have also been integrated into the programme. South American designers and creative minds under the age of 30 were invited to apply by the beginning of January to give a presentation at Ladfest. Five excellent projects drawn from over 600 submissions were selected to shine a spotlight on South America’s up-and-coming design scene. In addition, on the second day, the winners in the professional and student categories will be selected from the finalists in the Latin American Design Award 2017. Standard tickets for the conference cost 95 US-dollars. After 24 February, the late booking price of 105 US-dollars will apply.
