Prize for Illustration 2017
London Transport Museum
– 3 September 2017
The theme of this year’s Prize for Illustration was “Sounds of the City”. Creative artists from all over the world were asked to submit their illustrated interpretations of urban sounds. The 100 winning projects can be seen until 3 September 2017 at the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden.
Inspired by nightlife, music, traffic, and multinational languages, more than 2,000 illustrators and students of illustration submitted their multifaceted explorations of the noises they are surrounded by every day. A number of special events await the visitors to the exhibition. The workshop “Design Your Own Music Festival with Soundcheck” will take place on Thursday, 6 July 2017 from 18.30 to 21.30. On Tuesday, 27 June 2017 there will be a lecture on “Music and Memory – How to Build a City”. Tickets are available online on the museum’s website. The illustration contest was created in partnership between the London Transport Museum and the Association of Illustrators.
