The Brussels Design Market
18 – 19 March 2017
Sheds 3 + 4, Tour and Taxis, Brussels
Built in the heart of Brussels in 1903, according to plans by the architect Ernest Van Humbeeck, the Tour and Taxis building complex is considered a jewel of industrial architecture. Today, it serves as an exhibition ground and venue for cultural events and trade fairs. It has been hosting Europe’s largest market for vintage design since September 2016 – Brussels Design Market.
Founded ten years ago, the Market was originally conceived as a flea market for products from the 1950s to early 1980s. Today, with more than 100 international exhibitors, Brussels Design Market is one of the most important events for vintage design from the 20th century. More than 7.000 design lovers come here twice a year, in March and September. Aside from furniture from all over the world you will find ceramics and glass objects, collectables and furnishing accessories made of metal, wood or Bakelite.
A weekend ticket costs 25 euros and tickets can be ordered in advance online. The entrance fee for visitors on Sunday only is ten euros. The area is accessible by car and public transport. Detailed information on how to get there is available on the homepage. A list of all the exhibitors is also available to download online as a PDF.
