Toca Me 2018
Alte Kongresshalle, Munich
3 March 2018
Inspiration and entertainment is on offer to visitors at the Toca Me design conference, taking place on the first day of Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW) in the city’s Alte Kongresshalle.
The host is the Munich design studio Toca Me, founded in 2003 by Nina Steenackers, and Thorsten und Ron Iberl. The year it was founded was also the point at which the conference of the same name was born.
The organisers have managed to recruit seven internationally renowned designers from different areas of the discipline, including traditional graphic design, illustration and creative coding, to speak at the conference. For instance, the French graphic designer, Malika Favre, whose minimalist illustrations have already featured in many international publications, will be sharing her expertise with the attendees. Also taking part is the creative programmer and co-founder of the internet platform Etsy Jared Tarbell, the motion graphics artist Susie Sie, Mr. Bingo, who describes himself as “artist, speaker and twat” the British graphic designer Patrick Thomas, the designer and sculptor Wilfrid Wood and Remo Gambacciani, who, with Susie Sie, founded the interdisciplinary studio Materia which, amongst other things, designed the conference’s opening titles. The presentations will be held from 2.15 to 10.30 pm following which, attendees and speakers can network at the after-party. In addition to the presentations, various activities, such as a book corner organised by Soda Books, will provide a varied supporting programme.
Standard tickets for the event have already sold out. There are a few late bird tickets available for 129 euros.
